Upper Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)
A brachioplasty, or arm lift, is indicated when one has excessive skin, fat, or both on their upper arm. This is commonly called Bat Wings. It usually occurs with excessive weight gain or weight loss with poor skin contraction.
The procedure consists of resculpting the upper arm by excising the hanging skin and excess fat. Depending on how excessive the skin resection, the scar can be hidden in the armpit, or a longer scar hides in the upper medial arm into the armpit and upper chest wall.
The surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure in the comfort of our in-office surgical suite and usually takes from two to three hours. After a few weeks, the incisions are healed.
